To commemorate the school's 60th Diamond Jubilee, alumna Ms. Chow Cheuk Yin ('09) composed the anniversary theme song with lyrics penned by teacher Mr. Kwok Yun Shan. In an exclusive interview with student publication Maryknoll Voice, the creators revealed how formative school experiences—including nostalgic anecdotes about after-hours band practices interrupted by janitors—informed the song's emotional architecture.
Creative Philosophy
The collaborators intentionally infused the composition with warm, autobiographical elements reflecting quintessential campus experiences. Ms. Chow's melodic structures and Mr. Kwok's lyrical narratives collectively encode shared memories that resonate across generations of Maryknollians. As articulated in the interview, their creative synergy transformed personal recollections of "warmth and intimacy" into an auditory time capsule designed to evoke collective alumni identity.
Educational Significance
Ms. Chow acknowledged the institution's role in her artistic development, urging current students to leverage school resources for self-advancement.
