"Harmony Through Inclusion" Community Day 2025: Cross-Sectoral Collaboration in Andersen

Maryknoll Secondary School inaugurated its first tripartite community initiative with three Andersen District organizations*, hosting an eco-art inclusion event that attracted over 160 participants including families, seniors, and organizational members. This collaborative model demonstrated innovative community pedagogy through sustainable art practices and intergenerational engagement.

 

Programmatic Implementation
The event featured:

  1. A co-created photography exhibition showcasing five months of cross-ability collaboration between student photographers and wheelchair-using participants^
  2. Intergenerational music exchanges featuring performances by the school band and Lutheran Community Youth Orchestra
  3. Hands-on sustainability workshops: recycled paper manufacturing and Finnish molkky sport demonstrations
  4. Participatory art installations facilitating dialogue across demographic boundaries
